Trauma-Informed Care Training
Registration Fee: $30.00 per person
Experiencing trauma can affect physical, social, emotional, and behavioral aspects of life. Considering past trauma, remaining aware of coping mechanisms, and understanding the importance of trauma-informed care aids helpers in treating the whole person rather than different symptoms.
Objectives:
Describe various issues that may impact client care and recovery.
Gain knowledge of the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients, family, and colleagues.
Learn how to avoid and combat vicarious trauma in helping professionals.
Understand the importance of trauma-informed approaches in mental health treatment.
About the Trainer: Asha Dickerson, PhD, LPC, NCC, CPCS
Dr. Asha Dickerson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, educator, consultant, and speaker based in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Dickerson has worked with individuals and families of all age ranges and her clinical and academic specialties include multicultural issues, addicted families, and blended family issues.
